Der Tod ist ein Teil des Lebens. Er ist nicht einfach eine Leere, in die wir fallen. Im Gespräch und im Dialog wird der Tod als ein Ereignis dargestellt, das jeden von uns trifft. Irgendwo in der Mitte von Nirgendwo: Drei Menschen kommen im Dunkeln zusammen. Sie sind nicht ruhig, sie sind schamlos und extrem. Sie tanzen und singen Anekdoten ihrer Angst. Aber sind die Ängste überhaupt echt, sind sie nicht durch die endlosen Erfahrungen des Menschen in den Medien mechanisch geworden? Wohin zieht uns der Tod, sind wir süchtig nach ihm, warum wollen wir den Tod anderer sehen? Wer verspürt mehr Befriedigung, der Darsteller auf der Bühne oder der Zuschauer, der – im Angesicht des Leides – über sich selbst reflektieren kann?
DANCING TO THE END ist eine apokalyptische, synoptische Collage, mit schwarzem Humor, in der jeder Darsteller in einer Endlosschleife seine Rolle zu spielen hat.
Nir De Volff absolvierte seine Tanzausbildung an der Bat Dor Hochschule in Tel Aviv. Er tanzte für verschiedene Kompanien in Tel Aviv und trat auf der israelischen Gastspielreise von Pina Bauschs "Victor" auf. Nach seinem Umzug nach Europa arbeitete er u.a. mit Jan Pusch, Les Ballets C. de la B., Christine de Smedt und mit der Produktionsstätte danswerkplaats (DWA) in Amsterdam, mit deren Unterstützung eigene Stücke entstanden. Ende 2003 zog er nach Berlin und schloss sich der Kompanie von Constanza Macras an. 2004 gründete er TOTAL BRUTAL und entwickelte die Trilogie "Dolly", die in Prag, Amsterdam und Berlin aufgeführt wurde. Seitdem arbeitet er mit einer Vielzahl von Künstlern und Spielstätten.

“Dancing To The End” is a performance dealing with the phenomenon of death in art. The Berlin-based Total Brutal, artistic director Nir De Volff notes, "Death is part of life and not simply a void into which we drop. History of art feeds us with endless fragments and images of death. Death images are part of our daily life, part of our need to fear and construct our identity."

This time around the group is promoting conversation and dialogue about death, an event that is going to happen to all of us whether we like it or not. Throughout its history, art has fed us with images of death. These images are part of our daily life, part of our need to fear and construct our identity. Dancing To The End seeks different contemporary meanings of death.
Dancing To The End takes place in an apocalyptic synoptical collage, with the performers dancing with each other to the end of their power.
TOTAL BRUTAL was officially grounded in Berlin 2007 with the premiere of the performance "3SOME" which toured worldwide. The company has been working at Dock11 theater as a base and in 2013 expand the productions to Sophiensaele.On September 2014 Total Brutal premiere at the prestige theater Schaubühne am Lehniner platz on a collaboration project with the theater director Falk Richter. TOTAL BRUTAL work with wide range of professional performers and with different theater range from small to national. The work has been seen in theaters such as Oper Frankfurt (Frankfurt), Grand theater Groningen, Rotterdam Schouwburg, ZIL art center Moscow, SESC Phineiros Sao Paulo, Esplanade theater Singapore, Bangkok national center for dramatic art, St Pölten City theater Austria, Warehouse 2 at Jaffa port Tel Aviv, Ponec Prague among others cities around the world.
Nir de Volff collaborate as well with artist such as the group She She Pop at HAU Berlin, Katarina Niminnen at 3. Stock Volksbühne and with Fouad Muhamed(Cairo). De volff create international cultural exchange projects mixing social-political subjects with entertainment values. TOTAL BRUTAL gets support from the Senate Culture of Berlin, HKF Berlin's culture department and different Goethe-Institutes.
Nir De Volff, Nir De Volff, born and raised in Israel, started dancing at the professional school Bat Dor in Tel Aviv which relate with the Royal Ballet Academy of London.De Volff danced in several companies in Tel Aviv, and created at the Suzanne Dellal center his first piece at the age of 23. He also performed as a guest in Pina Bausch's "Viktor" during her Israeli tour.
De Volff moved to Amsterdam in the beginning of the millennium.For the next few years De Volff received consistent support from the production house Dansmakers. In the end of 2003 he moved to Berlin, joined the company of Constanza Macras at Schaubüne Berlin and found a warm place at Dock11 Artist's residence. De Volff has created and collaborate few times with the performance group She She Pop at HAU Berlin. De Volff created his first show in Berlin called "Dolly in the city" at Sophiensaele's Tanztage 2004 festival as part of a trilogy performed and created in Prague, Amsterdam, and Berlin.
In the summer of 2007 he collaborated with the actor Knut Berger and Sahara Abu Gosh on the piece "3SOME" which toured around the world. In 2008 he created "Believe it or not", 2009 he created MATKOT, choreography at Frankfurt opera house for the opera director David Herman and For the first time in its history, Berlin's New Synagogue in the Oranienburger Straße opened its doors to an art site-specific performance: ACTION. 2010 De Volff created in Bangkok the show ON AIR, a culture exchange project with Thai artist and his company. Later in Berlin he created the shows MATKOT and PICNICS WEDDINGS & FUNERALS. 2011 he created KOMOT in Berlin and collaborate in Holland with Egyptian dancer and Israeli Arab musician the show COME AS YOU ARE. He was invited to lead a creative school youth project in Liege Belgium. 2012 he was invited by Goethe Institute Sao Paulo to create KIKAR at the renowned theater SESC Phineiros, a cultural exchange project with Brazilian performers and his company. 2013 the show DIARY OF A LOST DECADE opened the Goethe Institute festival in Tel Aviv and later premiered in Sophiensaele Berlin. In the beginning of 2014 he created movements for “Small town boy” a theater play by Falk Richter at Maxim Gorki Theater and presented a one time live music and dance event at the Berliner Dom, the biggest cathedral of Berlin.
